Non-urgent advice: REDUCING MEDICINES WASTE

The practice has signed up to help reduce medicines waste. To support this we would ask you to only order those items you need and not everything on your list.

We would also like to encourage you to use our online repeat prescribing service.

If you need help in using this service, please ask our prescriptions team on the above telephone number or email them at the email address shown above.

Chemists

Most local chemists close at 17:30, however, Cohens Chemist within the health centre is open until 18:00. Every evening there is a chemist open until 18:30 in the town. We operate an Electronic Prescription Service whereby you can choose which local pharmacy you would like your electronic prescription to sent to.

This will mean you don’t have to collect your prescription from the surgery but just go to your designated local chemist for collection. Some local chemists will also deliver the items to you when they are ready, please check with you local chemist for details.

Please note you will still need to place your order via the surgery,

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner, pharmacist or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
