Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home, you can register with our surgery temporarily. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP.

Your surgery at home will keep hold of your records, meaning we will not be able to access these. With this in mind, the primary reason for temporarily registering is to be assessed for acute on the day issues.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months.

We do not have to accept your registration, although we do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. If you live locally and are at an attainable distance to home, we will reject your registration and ask you to attend your usual GP. We also advise people who are staying with family/friends in the area to register with the surgery they are registered at.

To register as a temporary patient, we request that you attain a printed copy from the surgery.
