Weight Loss Injections

It has been circulated that weight loss injections are able to be prescribed on the NHS. Please note that these are only available under very strict criteria:

➤ Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or above

AND

➤ Diagnosis of 4 or more of the following:

– High blood pressure (hypertension)

– High cholesterol (dyslipidemia)

– Cardiovascular disease (stroke, angina etc)

– Obstructive sleep apnoea

– Type 2 diabetes.

Please be aware that before prescribing, you must have completed a formal weight management programme such as the NHS Digital Weight Management Service or the Diabetes Prevention Programme.

Please do not contact the surgery in regards to the injections, as we will be contacting eligible patients directly.
